Why “Rockall”?

The name was inspired by two things. One is the islet way out in the Atlantic ocean and the second is the shipping forecast region by the same name. The islet is a small granite pinnacle surrounded by Helen’s reef and cold water corals. The shipping forecast region is a huge area exposed to the full power of the Atlantic ocean, extending from the north of Scotland to the west coast of Ireland.

The combination of this small, resilient, pristine lump of granite and the incredible natural power in the region feels fitting for a small company in the energy transition aspiring to help turn big ideas into reality.
