Rockall – one year on

We started Rockall a little over a year ago with the aim of applying our major projects capability to the energy transition to lower carbon, affordable and accessible energy. Our view is the build-out of a low carbon energy system will be done via Projects. Small projects to develop solutions and large projects to deliver at scale. 

Who knew what the year would bring? CV-19 evolving into new variants, and the Energy Transition evolving into Energy Crisis. COP26 may not have delivered the breakthrough for climate action, but Scotwind is an example of the willingness of people in Governments, Developers and Funders to throw their best efforts at the challenge. The rising energy costs at the turn of ‘22 foreshadowed the shocking impact of open warfare in Europe and the resolve to replace Russian oil & gas. 

Projects, successful projects, are now even more critical to building-out a lower carbon energy system that is secure and sustainable. In the midst of this turbulence, Rockall has worked on some interesting projects which we hope to build on to help turn big ideas into full scale reality.  

We offer expertise in all aspects of major projects from top level strategy and leadership to integration of specialist expertise, in flexible tailored solutions from specific targeted needs to full scale developments.

Through the year we have been active in hydrogen, infrastructure, offshore floating wind and global project delivery systems, and explored avenues for collaborative research and development.
