MSc projects at the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering
I had the privilege of participating as a judge at the recent MSc group’s research projects final presentations at the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.
This year, the MSc project teams were set the task of developing an offshore hydrogen concept, and the four groups took different approaches to explore floating solar-wind hydrogen generation; a vessel to produce and store hydrogen; re-purposing of an offshore oil platform for ammonia production and storage and use of offshore renewable resources to produce hydrogen.
The MSc project teams all did a marvelous job, producing high quality, well integrated research, and impressive insights. Thanks to Professor Chengi Kuo for organising my participation, and to the staff and MSC students.
I graduated from the same department in 1989 and it’s great to see the Department and University continue to go from strength to strength and at the forefront of addressing the world’s big engineering challenges.
